Victor Moses commits long-term future to Chelsea, signs new contract

Good news!

The feel-good story of Victor Moses took another happy turn today as Chelsea announced that he’s signed a new contract, tying him to the club until 2021.

Moses’s previous deal was due to expire in two seasons. When he had signed that one, a four-year deal in 2015 just before heading out on loan to West Ham United, we were scratching our heads. Two years later, things make much more sense.

“We are extremely pleased Victor has chosen to extend his contract with us. He is enjoying an excellent season and, under Antonio’s leadership, has proved to be an important member of the squad. This new contract is testament to Victor’s hard work and dedication to succeed at Chelsea and we believe he will be a big part of our future success.”

Moses’s journey to his current key role at Chelsea has been rather unique and roundabout, but now he’s here and he’s set to stay and contribute for the foreseeable future.

Congrats, Victor!
