David Luiz continued his narrative-defying antics with another strong performance in the heart of the Chelsea defence, while adding a touch of warrior toughness and of course the surprise free kick that gave Chelsea a real foothold in the match.

Incidentally, despite Chelsea's best-in-class defense in the Premier League, this is the player ratings' first Man of the Match for any of the three center backs.

2. N'GOLO KANTÉ 8.5

Following close behind David Luiz are the Kanté twins, N'Golo and O'logn.  It's a player ratings first, a dead heat for second place!

Inseparable the Kanté twins are, almost as if they were one person.  But that of course can't be.  No man can be in two places at the same time!

Which raises the question, is he man or machine?

3. CESC FÀBREGAS 7.4

Fairly impressive for Cesc to beat out all but two others despite playing only about ten minutes, including stoppage time.  But that's what happens when the rest of attack looks disjointed and anemic for most of the game and no other Chelsea shirt bothers to try to inject some control and precision into the proceedings.

And, in a way, that's precisely what's expected of him as an impact substitute late in games.

Fàbregas unlucky not to earn a great assist on the Pedro chance / Henderson last ditch tackle.
