The good and bad of Chelsea’s FIFA 17 ratings refresh

Hazard, Costa, Kante, Alonso, and Moses got upgrades, but John Terry was downgraded.

EA Sports have unveiled their winter upgrades and downgrades to player ratings. In what they are calling a “Ratings Refresh,” Chelsea fared very well with five players receiving generous upgrades. However, one player was unfortunately on the wrong end of the ratings adjustment.

Thanks to a terrific first half of the season, these players all received upgrades to their base ratings from the start of the season:

Chelsea Upgrades

Eden Hazard - LW - Chelsea: 88 → 89
Diego Costa - ST - Chelsea: 85 → 86
N'Golo Kante - CM - Chelsea: 81 → 83
Marcos Alonso - LWB - Chelsea: 77 → 79
Victor Moses - RWB - Chelsea: 77 → 78

From a gaming perspective, the most exciting ratings bump in this group has to be N’Golo Kante getting an 83. Not only is his base card now better, but his two special cards (in-form and ones to watch) have been upgraded from 84 to 85. Costa and Hazard have seen all of their special cards, including their purple Player of the Month cards go up as well.

Now for the bad news. John Terry was given a downgrade. Womp, womp.

Chelsea Downgrades

John Terry - CB - Chelsea: 84 → 82
