From non-league Tooting & Mitcham to Premier League West Ham and even the England national team, versatile Michail Antonio has impressed many over the past couple seasons. So much so that the late bloomer was rumoured to be on transfer radar of Chelsea and other English teams as well; all of which prompted the Hammers to offer Michail a new deal that would double his current wages.
However, West Ham's turbulent season has hampered talks about the new contract for the 26-year-old. At the moment, Michail is focusing only on defending his team.
"Right now, nothing is really happening on the contract talks. We'll just see how things go. At the moment my head is not being swayed in any way. I just want to play my football and whatever happens, happens. We'll see [if I will sign a new contract]."

With West Ham no longer able to rely on Dimitri Payet, Antonio’s influence and importance to the team has only increased.
Still, this is probably good news for potential suitors for his signature. Should a new contract remain unsigned, expect Antonio to be one of the major players in the summer transfer window.
