John Terry has traveled with the rest of the Chelsea squad to Burnley but is likely to miss Sunday’s game after picking up an ankle injury in training. And by injury we mean a nice big gash (and developing bruise) right over the bone.

By the looks of it, it’s just an impact injury, which should not rule him out for too long (when compared with a strain, for example), but given how recently it was stitched up, it’s probably better to keep it out of any potential match action.
The apparently not very squeamish Terry posted this rather gruesome video of the ankle getting stitched up after the training ground clash.

Terry wasn’t likely to start of course, but he’s been a regular on the bench since Branislav Ivanović left for Zenit St. Petersburg. If JT isn’t available for bench duty on Sunday, he’s likely to be replaced by young Nathan Aké, who was not in the matchday squad for either the Liverpool or the Arsenal game.
