Charly Musonda Jr has recovered not only from his latest injury — he played the whole game on Wednesday for Chelsea U23 as they beat MK Dons in the Checkatrade Trophy Second Round — but he’s recovered from his latest crisis of future to sign a new 4.5-year contract with Chelsea.
A surprise. In the end he changed his mind. #cfc https://t.co/fcvqS6W9dC

Charly, who scored on his Chelsea debut earlier this season against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup, says he loves the club and is ready to continue his “journey” here.
“I am very happy and very proud. I came here very young and am very happy to continue my journey here. I love this club so it’s a great moment for me and my family. Now I want to establish myself and progress into the team and stay here permanently.”

Club director Marina Granovskaia, who’s currently deputizing in the technical director role as well after Michael Emenalo’s resignation, is hoping Charly’s journey will indeed be a great one.
“We are very happy Charly has committed his future to the club. He is an exciting talent who we believe can develop into an important first-team player and we hope he will be a part of Chelsea’s successes for a long time to come.”

The 21-year-old Musonda, who’s been at Chelsea (and the Chelsea Academy, and a couple loans) since 2012, posted a thank you to all who have shaped his career to this point on Instagram as well.
Congrats, Charly!
“Another proud moment for me @ChelseaFc would like to thank my family, all the coaches that have developed me here, all the world class players with whom I have the pleasure of sharing a dressing room and last but not least, our amazing fans for always believing in me, this is for you, long way to go, but the dream continues!”
