Conte spent much of Friday’s “pre-match” press conference having to talk about anything but match-related things — useless questions about Courtois and Hazard dominated the 15 minutes that were for broadcast — but he did address team news briefly, revealing that there are no new injuries and, even better, that he expects both David Luiz and Charly Musonda Jr to return for next weekend’s FA Cup third round clash against Norwich City.
“Musonda and David Luiz are improving a lot, their recovery is very close. I’m not sure about the next game but for sure against Norwich they will be available.”

David Luiz has missed the last 10 games with a knee problem, having last featured in the 4-0 win over Qarabag in Azerbaijan over a month ago. Hopefully him being available to play again will stop the transfer rumors for a while. Musonda meanwhile has battled various injuries throughout the 2017 calendar year, including this latest groin problem, so hopefully he’ll kick off 2018 on a good note and build from there (either while remaining at Chelsea or going out on loan, as it’s been quietly rumored).
