A much better second-half from Chelsea than whatever that first-half was sees the Blues collect all three points in dominating fashion. And it could’ve been a lot more, with Bakayoko missing a hat-trick of glorious chances just by himself.
The win has been made even better by Manchester United’s foibles at home against Burnley, with the fighting Ashely Barneses stealing all three points from Old Trafford. Chelsea remain third, but purely on goal difference now just one point.
A great way to start the second half of the season then.
Carefree.
- A goal! Two, even! Weeeeee
- Chelsea back in the 3-5-2 today, with Cahill in the middle as Christensen is forced to miss the game through illness.
- Azpilicueta-to-Morata connection works for the SIXTH (6th!!!!) time this season. Morata into double-digits in league goals.
- Alonso adds to his league-leading goals total for defenders. His second goal in three games, and 5th of the season.
- Third clean sheet in a row in the Premier League and fifth match unbeaten in all competitions since that shock loss to West Ham.
- Chelsea have yet to drop a point from winning positions in the Premier League this season.
- Chelsea have yet to concede from a corner in the Premier League this season.
- Chelsea now just one point off second place.
- NBC Gold is supposedly a “premium” product, yet is still a good minute behind live time. If Fox Soccer can sort out (near) real-time streaming, why can’t NBC?
- Next up: Stoke on Saturday at the Bridge, in the final game of 2017.
