As prescribed, an early third from Chelsea in the second-half, a lovely finish from Pedro who could’ve easily had a hat-trick himself if he had repeated that when presented with several other opportunities, put the match well beyond doubt and the two teams saw out the rest of the proceedings without too much fuss or muss.
This is exactly how Saturday was supposed to go. Could’ve done without the late goal for Huddersfield, but oh well.
Job done. Three points. Onwards.
Carefree.
- Back to the 3-4-3, back in the goals. Much better finishing tonight than recently.
- Hazard, as ever, wasted at center forward but still influential. Willian with a goal and two assists, Pedro with his third of the season and first since October.
- Bakayoko goal good for the confidence, perception. Might go down as an own goal maybe?
- Ampadu makes his Premier League debut! Three Chelsea subs the three most important players on the pitch: Hazard, Kanté, Christensen.
- Batshuayi, Drinkwater may not have gotten the start, but got a run-out at least
- Next up: Southampton at home on Saturday, 3pm
