CONGRATS, JACK CORK!
For a certain generation, Jack Cork is what McEachran, Baker, Loftus-Cheek, Chalobah, et al. are for later generations. (And that’s only counting midfielders.) On the books from age 9 to age 22, but never making it past pre-season with the first-team despite captaining the youth and the reserves as well (not even a bench appearance!) and allowed to leave on a cut-rate deal (less than £1m) to Southampton in 2011.
Makes me very happy to see him succeed not only at the Premier League but now, at the international level with a well deserved and overdue call-up to the England squad.
INTERNATIONALS: Fantastic news as Clarets midfielder @jackcork1 earns a first call-up to the @England senior squad.
