Pedro nominated for Premier League Goal of the Month for October

Chelsea may be in a bit of rocky patch — at least that’s what everybody keeps saying of the currently fourth place defending champions — but the Blues do continue to produce moments of magic, too, including some spectacular goals.

For the third month running this season, a Chelsea player has been nominated for Premier League Goal of the Month, with Pedro, who doesn’t really ever score unspectacular goals — he won two of these awards last season — joining Álvaro Morata from September and Marcos Alonso from August as a nominee this season. It’s Pedro’s effort against Watford that caught the eye of the selection committee, just as it caught the far post of Heurelho Gomes’s goal after Chelsea worked a short corner.

Both Morata and Alonso ended up not winning the award, and the same fate is likely to befall Pedro thanks to Simone Boufal’s ridiculous solo effort for Southampton.

Other nominees include a bunch of Manchester City players, a standard long range effort from Philippe Coutinho, some individual magic from Andre Ayew, and a really nice counter-attacking goal from Leicester City after they appointed patient-possession-oriented Claude Puel.

You can vote for Pedro or Boufal at the link below.
