Victor Moses, Nigerian Football of the Year as of Friday, has been out for over a month since injuring his hamstring in Chelsea’s game against Crystal Palace after the October international break, but the wing-back has been making good progress lately and is now almost ready to return. Saturday’s trip to the Hawthorns was a bit too soon, but he should be ready for next weekend’s trip to Anfield.
“Victor Moses is progressing well and I hope to have him back from tomorrow, for the game after Qarabag. It’s important to have all the senior players in good form without injuries.”
-Antonio Conte; source: Chelsea FC
With Moses essentially penciled in to start against Liverpool, it sounds like Zappacosta will get one more start, away at Qarabag on Wednesday before returning to backup/rotational duties. The former Torino man has not done badly as Moses’s replacement, but given the busy schedule, it will be nice to have some wing-back options once again in the squad (at least on the right flank).
