After a shaky few minutes to start the game — Azpilicueta probably has been the pick of the defenders, with a couple crucial interventions early — Chelsea have not been bothered too much in building a seemingly unassailable 3-0 lead, with Fàbregas pulling the strings, Hazard and Morata combining excellently, and everyone else putting in a solid shift. A goal each from the front two, plus a stellar finish from Marcos Alonso from a Cesc free kick has Chelsea sitting pretty at the half.
Other than a barrage of crosses when they get close enough, West Brom have posed very little actual danger and Chelsea have been given time and space to do as we’ve pleased. The one big concern is the Pulisians kicking Hazard and Morata to pieces, but with their resistance now seemingly broken, hopefully that won’t be the case in the second half.
There are still 45 minutes to go of course and Chelsea have to finish the job here. It’s not yet time to let up and take it easy, even if two more away games (Qarabag, Liverpool) await in the next seven days.
COME ON, CHELSEA!
