This is getting slightly ridiculous now, but here’s yet another injury picked up by yet another Chelsea player while away on international duty. This time it’s Eden Hazard, though fortunately it’s not nearly as bad as the last time this happened to him and he broke his ankle back in June. But Hazard still missed training on Sunday — presumably due to the knock(s) he appeared to pick up in the game against Mexico on Friday — being kept away from the main group and doing some individual work on the side.

Reports from Belgium remain unsure at this time whether Hazard will be able to play on Tuesday against Japan, but if his fitness is in any sort of real doubt, he needs to be wrapped up in cotton wool and sent back to Chelsea at this very minute. No, right now. Right this minute.

The theme of injuries has been a much more prevalent one this season than last, with Hazard, Kanté, Morata, and several others already missing significant time with various ailments.
Hopefully Hazard’s latest is nothing serious.
