Another international break, another Eden Hazard interview about Zidane, Real, and Chelsea

Broken record.

Eden Hazard has been joining Real Madrid ever since he decided to join Chelsea back in 2012. He’s also been joining them to play for Zinedine Zidane specifically for some time now, though the way Zidane’s season going, he may be sacked before even Antonio Conte. Or something.

If you’ve been paying any sort of even mildly close attention over these 5.5 seasons, none of this should be new. This is one of those stories that always pops up when we’re anywhere near the summer transfer window, the winter transfer window, or in the middle of an international break, when players have to do more media appearances and thus have to answer more banal media questions — and Hazard, as Belgium captain, is front and center for all this nonsense.

“Everyone knows the respect I have for Zidane as a player, but also as a manager. He was my idol.

“I do not know what will happen in my career in the future. However, for sure, to play under Zidane would be a dream.

“I am enjoying life at Chelsea. I still have a lot of things to achieve with them. I am focused on playing for Chelsea.”

Rinse. Repeat. Watch the masses freak out.

Next.

That said, with a little over 2.5 years left on his current contract, it’s time to get that new (record-wages) deal signed, just as it’s been rumored since the summer. (Thibaut, too.)
