Álvaro Morata has made it a double nomination for the Premier League’s September awards, adding the nomination for Player of the Month to his nomination for Goal of the Month that was revealed earlier.
As with the latter award, Morata is facing tremendous competition, including the three other top goalscorers in the league so far. Through the first seven games of the season, Manchester United’s Romalu Lukaku leads all players with 7 goals. He’s closely followed by the trio of Harry Kane (who scored none in August but now can’t stop for either club or country), Sergio Aguero and Morata on 6. With the latter two sidelined through injury for the near future, Lukaku and Kane could run away with the golden boot race, though it is a long season.
The other three nominees for September’s Player of the Month award include Kevin De Bruyne, Jamal Lascelles (of Newcastle United) and Pascal Groß (of Brighton). But chances are it will be one of the strikers who will win this award.
You can help influence that decision by voting on EA SPORTS’s website.

(The Manager of the Month nominees are Guardiola, Pochettino, Mourinho, and Wenger. No Conte this time.)
P.S.: Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi was nominated for the PL2 Player of the Month. Alas, there is no public vote component to that decision.
