Fabregas the star in this week’s behind the scenes look at Chelsea

We may be mired in the ennui of yet another international break, but it’s Friday and that means Chelsea Unseen and that means plenty of training fun to briefly drive all this boredom away.

This week’s edition focuses largely on the players who did not get called up to their respective national teams and instead stayed behind to train with Conte and the rest of the coaching staff. Although there is a brief shot of César Azpilicueta, who’s since joined up with Spain, messing up, and that’s surely a first for him!

Cesc Fàbregas, the man who’s done more convincing of Conte in training sessions than any man in Chelsea history, is once again the star. He may not be fleet-footed but he claims a 6-0 record in sprints versus Charly Musonda Jr (though clearly Fabregas is using some of his veteran “wiles” to gain an advantage in some of those runs) and he’s also well aware of where the cameras are at all times to play up his good passes and plays during the friendly intra-squad scrimmages.

It’s all in good fun of course, and it’s nice to see the boys relaxing and recovering and getting ready for all the serious business to start again next weekend.
