AFC Bournemouth 0-1 Chelsea, Premier League: Post-match reaction

A dominant 90 minutes from Chelsea to notch a third win on the bounce and a spot back in the top four after all the other big boys won earlier in the day.

The scoreboard may not reflect it, but this was a good, controlled, if at times sloppy (when is it not?) performance from start to finish. An incorrect offside call, a couple missed sitters, one tremendous Begović save kept the Blues to just one goal, while a César Azpilicueta block ensured a clean sheet and just one shot on target (and that in the 92nd minute) at the other end.

With just a one-goal lead, the game never quite felt safe, but in the end, Chelsea take all three points back to Stamford Bridge.

Carefree.

  • First Premier League goal of the season for Hazard.
  • Drinkwater makes his Premier League debut for Chelsea at long last, recovering enough from midweek to play the final 10. Chelsea switch to 3-5-2 as well, a sense of normalcy from Conte in terms of timing and subs.
  • Next up: AS Roma way on Tuesday
