Conte makes decision on Charly Musonda Jr’s future after some consideration — report

Two weeks ago, amid social media shenanigans from Charly Musonda Jr and his brother Lamisha, Antonio Conte was supposedly “considering” sending the highly promising youngster out on loan in January to satisfy the kid’s wish for (more) consistent playing time.

However, since then, Charly Jr made (public) amends with Chelsea, had a chat with the Chelsea head coach, made an extended cameo against Crystal Palace, and is now set to live happily ever after as a Chelsea legend, or some such.

Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard, the same source who reported Conte’s impending decision a fortnight ago, is now reporting that Conte has made his decision, and that decision is for Charly to stay with Chelsea beyond January.

While obviously the final decision of what may or may not happen with Musonda this season is also up to the player himself, this is surely good news. The highly promising youngster, who has made one start (in the League Cup) and three additional substitute appearances in the Premier League, is set for a second career Chelsea start today against Everton in the fourth round of the League Cup.

Needless to say, he’s pretty excited.
