Conte expects Morata back, Moses out for AS Roma match on Wednesday

Chelsea’s leading man could be back soon.

If you’re looking for a bit of good news after a rough Saturday, look no further than Antonio Conte discussing the club’s current injury situation as we head towards Champions League clash with Roma.

It’s only a small bit of good news unfortunately, as even though Conte is ‘hopeful’ that Álvaro Morata will be back (as various reports from the last couple days also claimed), Chelsea will now have to make do without Victor Moses for an indeterminate amount of time.

“For sure Moses is out because of his injury. I don’t know if it’s serious, I hope not. Drinkwater is still out. I hope to have Morata back for the game.”

Given the congested schedule, not to mention the importance of players like Morata and N’Golo Kanté, Chelsea will need to work even harder now.

“For us it’s a very difficult moment because we started the game without Morata and Kante, which isn’t simple. During the game another important player, Moses, had an injury, and I hope to have him back very soon.

“This moment is very difficult for us, to lose three or four players is a big problem but despite this we have to find the will to fight. This season will be very difficult so we have to give 150 per cent, not just 100 per cent, like last season, because that’s not enough. We want to try to be competitive in all competitions but it won’t be easy.”

Losing Moses is yet another big blow for Chelsea, but getting Morata back could be the spark we need to get back on the winning track.
