Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Chelsea, Premier League: Post-match reaction

New, comments

Chelsea's 13-match Premier League record-tying winning streak comes to an end.

And so, the winning streak ends at White Hart Lane, of all places.  Was bound to happen sooner or later.  Chelsea improved in the second half, but not enough.

Last time Chelsea lost here, we won the league.  So there's that.  Oh and that small matter of a five-point lead still at the top of the table.

We'll be fine.

  • Chelsea conceded essentially the same goal twice, a far post header to Dele Alli who had four inches on both Azpilicueta and Moses (not to mention errors in positioning from the Chelsea defense).  Dele has six goals in his last three games.  Wow.
  • Chelsea kept off the scoresheet for just the second time all season, despite a few new-ish wrinkles like Pedro playing at left wing-back after the first change.  We saw a similar role for him in the League Cup loss to West Ham.
  • Fàbregas on for the final 10-15.  Batshuayi for the final 5 and added-on time.
  • Next up: a break from league action with FA Cup 3rd round this weekend.  Good timing.
