Chelsea were pegged back from the first minute of the second-half to the last, much like we were in the first-half as well, so in that regard, the 1-1 draw is a very good result. Given that Spurs also dropped points and Arsenal lost at home to Watford (LOL!), the 1-1 draw looks even better.
In fact, Chelsea have extended the lead at the top of the table to 9 points, regardless of what happens tomorrow with Manchesters City and United.
It would've been lovely to hang on to the half-time lead, but a couple bad bounces undid the defense (though Chelsea got lucky a couple times as well, especially on that Firmino chance). Costa then missed a penalty, Pedro hit one just wide, and that was that.
- David Luiz's first goal since his return to the club.
- Costa took the penalty because Hazard was subbed off just a few minutes prior. Fabregas wasn't on either, while David Luiz re-injured his knee and has been presumably taken off set piece duty again.
- Pedro for Hazard was the first sub; Fàbregas came on for the final 7+stoppage for the now customary 3-5-2 late-game formation.
- Top of the league and having a laugh.
