The calendar now reads 2017, though since the football seasons don't exactly align with the calendar in that sense, there's not much time for reflection. Chelsea have another game in just a few days, having navigated the festive schedule without too much trouble so far.
But, if you 20 minutes on hand, this video from @gundoganed is a fun look back over the past 12 months of Chelsea football, charting the Blues' rise from the dark depths of the post-Mourinho days to the current table-topping situation via the 100 goals scored during that time. From Oscar's opener against Crystal Palace to Costa's left-footer against Stoke City, there are some pretty good goals in there.
Unsurprisingly, Costa is the leading scorer for the calendar year with 24, followed by Eden Hazard on 15, with a handful of others right around the 10-goal mark. Nice to see those goals earlier in the year from the likes of Bertrand Traoré and Kenedy and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, too.
