Antonio Conte's reliance on basically the same eleven in the Premier League is expected to continue on Saturday as Chelsea travel across town to take on Arsenal.
In the League Cup, Conte may prefer to switch things up, not just in terms of players but also in terms of formations (single striker, three-man midfield in the league vs. two strikers, two midfielders in the cup), but in the league he's been very consistent since day one. Given his words in the pre-match press conference, it would be surprising to see that change now.
John Terry has been ruled out once again, which should mean another start for David Luiz and Gary Cahill. While Marcos Alonso had a decent debut on Tuesday, this is a huge game and Conte is likely to pick the players he trust the most. And that likely means Ivanovic, who was rested midweek, restored to right back and the usual midfield trio of Kante, Matic, and Oscar coming back in.
It's a similar story up front, all three of whom were rotated out for the cup match, though both Costa and Hazard made substitute appearances to great effect.
So, as boring and frustrating as it may be (if you want Fàbregas to start, for example), expect Conte to roll with the usual eleven.
4-1-4-1/4-3-3:
Courtois | Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Cahill, Ivanović | Kanté | Hazard, Matić, Oscar, Willian | Costa
The community's preferred lineup does include Alonso over Ivanović, as well as Fàbregas. Matić edges out Oscar for the final starting spot.
