After Wednesday's momentous comeback win against Leicester City in the League Cup, Chelsea return to sobering Premier League action. The Blues are coming off of just 1 point won from the previous six, with an away draw at Swansea and a home defeat by Liverpool pumping the brakes on what was looking like a fast and promising start.
The task doesn't get much easier with this cross-town trip to the Emirates, even though Chelsea have lost this fixture just twice since 2004-05. Even amid the disaster that was last season, Chelsea managed the double over the Gunners, winning 2-0 at home in September and 1-0 away in January via, of course, a Diego Costa goal.
Costa played less than an hour on Tuesday as a substitute, as did Hazard, while usual starters Oscar, Willian, Kante, and Branislav Ivanovic got the whole day off. Meanwhile, other ever-presents like Matic, Cahill, and Azpilicueta played the full 120 minutes, as did Cesc Fàbregas who's trying to convince Conte to play him from the start against his old team.
But this isn't about Conte; this is about what you would do. You might even have John Terry available, who's working hard to recover from his strained ankle.
Choose wisely.
