While Chelsea were not able to secure primary or ideal transfer targets such as Kalidou Koulibaly or Leonardo Bonucci in the summer, the Blues were still able to swing a deal in the final hour to reinforce the defense by re-acquiring former fan favorite David Luiz.
Having already played 143 times (scoring 12 goals and winning 2 European trophies) in the three-and-a-half years of his first stint at Chelsea, David Luiz is set to make his Chelsea debut for the second time on Friday, as Chelsea take on Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
After spending the last two years improving at Paris Saint-Germain, alongside international teammate Thiago Silva and under the guidance of a former center back, the legendary French captain Laurent Blanc, Luiz is eager to continue learning from another former professional in new Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte.
"I have tried to improve and mature day by day. When you try new things of course you improve, that's why I tried a new league. [Conte] loves football, that's why he's a passionate guy on the bench, celebrating and supporting the team. He's a specialist in tactics and training in a tactical way, I'm excited to learn under him."

According to Conte, the 29-year-old can still improve from his already high plateau of play. (Of course, Conte says that about every player.) We shall get to see the initial fruits of this new learning experience only a few days from now.
Enjoy the life!
