We don’t have official word on just how seriously John Terry injured himself against Swansea earlier on Sunday, but we’re starting to get some indications that it’s not exactly going to be happy news. Although the skipper just able managed to get off the pitch under his own power, Sky Sports have video of Terry leaving the stadium on crutches with a taped up left ankle:

Seeing a player on crutches is never, ever a good sign. I don’t want to hyperventilate too badly here (thank goodness we added a defender on deadline day; thank goodness Kurt Zouma is on the way back from a serious injury of his own), but at this point it’d surprise me if Terry got the all-clear for the Liverpool game on Friday. And that probably means we’re going to see a David Luiz-Gary Cahill centre back partnership. I guess it worked against Bayern Munich that one time?
