Conflicting news have emerged with regards to an old acquaintance of ours, Moussa Sissoko.
The midfielder has been allowed to leave the French national team training camp to finish a potential transfer to Tottenham Hotspur but according to L'Equipe (via GFFN), his current club Newcastle United have found Spurs’ €25 million bid unsatisfactory. Meanwhile, with Spurs having paid for his flight, Chelsea have entered the scene with a €30 million offer, and are already in talks with Sissoko’s agent.
But the news of a second gazumping of our North London rivals could be too funny to be true, as The Chronicle's Chief Sports Writer Lee Ryder says that Chelsea haven't actually made any offer for the Frenchman.
Understand that there's been no bid from #chelsea for Sissoko. #nufc

Sissoko, who, for a change, played quite well at Euro 2016 as France finished runners-up to Portugal, had been tenuously linked to Chelsea last year, after expressing his desire to work with José Mourinho. But nothing came of that then, and nothing should come of that now. Although it would be quite funny if it did.
Meanwhile, one thing that does look likely to happen between Chelsea and Newcastle is the loan of Christian Atsu. The Ghanaian international and his representatives have been hard at work in the last 24 hours.
