The 21-year-old joined Chelsea last winter from MLS club New York Red Bulls, in a £3.5 million move. He got his debut as a starter against Aston Villa and had a good performance in the 4-0 trouncing of the team which would end up dead last in the Premier League.
His second match against Swansea wasn't as impressive, with Miazga committing a mistake that led to the winning goal in the 1-0 affair. Guus Hiddink took him off at the half, and we never saw him again.
Previous reports claimed that Miazga had offers on the table from Premier League, Bundesliga, and La Liga clubs, but apparently he’s had to settle just for the Eredivisie. Hopefully he’ll get some much needed minutes in the Netherlands.
Good luck, Matt Miazga!
