The Ola Aina hype train may have already left the station, but the Nathaniel Chalobah one is still taking on passengers. Plenty of room left, hop on!
If you need any convincing, just watch the video above. As usual with these sorts of individual highlights, it's mostly about his on-the-ball actions and there isn't much we can tell about his defensive positioning, but what we do see is pretty excellent work, especially compared to what Chelsea produced in the first half.
Beyond his work-rate at closing down and winning the ball back, the thing that stands out is Chalobah's quick, long passes over the top of the defense or down the wings. This is a pretty typical strategy from Conte -- we saw it used a lot at the Euros with Italy -- and Chalobah seems to be grasping it better than most. Perhaps his year in Italy wasn't completely wasted after all!
Three years ago, the then 18-year-old Chalobah was, as Mourinho famously claimed, just one-loan away from a first-team spot. Five loans later, is this his time finally?
