Ashley Cole visits with old Chelsea friends, teammates in Los Angeles

After an odd couple years in Italy, Ashley Cole has proven his naysayers wrong (again) by coming to America (on a non-designated player salary) and holding down the starting left back position for LA Galaxy (except when collecting red cards, like he's done twice already this season).  MLS may not be the most skilled league, but there's plenty of running and physical fitness required to compete; Ash keeping up with this at 35 is fairly impressive.

On Tuesday, the Chelsea legend dropped by the team's hotel to say hi to old friends and old teammates, and talk a bit, as a fan, about the game ahead and the season that's gone

"Hopefully [Chelsea] can also beat a rival too, which is always nice. I'll be going with Stevie [Gerrard], so in the car journey we'll be friends but when that game starts it will be back to that old rivalry."

"It was always exciting to play them, always tough. After the first Champions League disappointment, before I arrived, I think it started then in 2005, and it was always a battle, we played them so many times and you never wanted to lose."

"Of course I'm still paying attention! Last year was disappointing for me, speaking as a fan now, and speaking to some of the boys they were disappointed too. But with the new manager, and with the signings that have come in, we will see something totally different and similar to the old Chelsea."

Antonio Conte sure could do with someone of Cole's abilities.
