Branislav Ivanovic leaves Chelsea training camp early to have injury assessed in England

According to Thursday night's Blues News segment on Chelsea TV, Branislav Ivanovic has left Chelsea's training camp in Austria to get an injury checked out.

The veteran right back aggravated a shoulder injury against Wolfsberger AC on Wednesday night, and while the squad trained twice on Thursday and will have one more session on Friday, Ivanovic was already on a plane heading back to Cobham.

Hopefully it's nothing more than precaution and the Vice-captain will be able to join the rest of the squad as they fly out Sunday morning to America, where matches against Liverpool, Real Madrid, and AC Milan await.

Ivanovic started both of our pre-season matches in Austria, and while the one memorable incident was his glaring error against Rapid Wien, when his loose backpass gifted a goal to the hosts, the 32-year-old has been a solid performer otherwise (even though, unlike preseasons past, he did not let his beard grow out this time).
