New Chelsea signing and noted SpongeBob SquarePants enthusiast Michy Batshuayi has arrived in Austria and will join his new teammates for the first time in training today (Monday).
The 23-year-old was Chelsea's first major signing of the summer, arriving from Olympique Marseille for a cool €40m.
Heach coach Antonio Conte recently spoke of the skills Batshuayi is expected to bring to the table, to either form a partnership with or be the backup for Diego Costa.
Absolutely I think Michy can make an impact because he is a young player but very strong, with good technique. He uses two feet. He is a great talent. I am very happy that Batshuayi is with us and I know the club bought a great player for the present and the future.
Batshuayi makes 25 players in the squad now, with the ones still on vacation after Euro 2016 not expected to join until after the training camp in Austria wraps up (but hopefully before the start of the USA Tour).
