Today was a big day for fans of EA Sports' FIFA video game series. The first look at the new game came out in the form of a 55 second teaser trailer that featured Chelsea's Eden Hazard prominently.
Advertising a changing of eras, EA Sports have announced they are adopting the Frostbite engine to run their newest installment of FIFA. The well-known engine that runs games such as Battlefield will replace the Ignite engine. To give us a glimpse of it's capabilities, the teaser featured flashbacks of previous years's games, then slowly panned up to Eden Hazard's in-game model, which you are almost unable to distinguish from his real-life self.
While there's been no official announcement, it does appear as if Hazard will be one of four featured cover athletes for the wildly popular game this year.
No release date has been given for FIFA. We should get a concrete date when the full reveal trailer drops on June 12. However, it usually comes out at the end of September.
It's pretty cool to see a Chelsea player on the cover of one of the world's most recognizable brands. Now, hopefully he lives up to the billing next season and returns to the Eden Hazard we all know and love.
