WINTER IS HERE:
Well, father always promised, didn't he?
Slovakia, Hungary, and even Messi may have all failed in their own ways on Sunday, but Game of Thrones delivered perhaps it's best season finale yet!
Two intriguing games coming up today, the last two in the Round of 16. All the big name favorites won yesterday; today at least one will go home.
ITALY vs. SPAIN
When: 17:00 BST; 12pm EDT
Where: Stade de France, Paris
On TV: ITV 1 (UK); ESPN, ESPN Deportes (USA); elsewhere
Streaming online: ITV Live (UK); ESPN3 (USA)
Who/what to watch for: Antonio Conte's Italy made a very impressive start to Euro 2016 with the 2-0 win over Belgium, but have gotten progressively less impressive in the two games since, culminating in a 1-0 loss to Ireland that didn't have any impact on their group win, but wasn't exactly something to be proud of. Spain also disappointed in their last group game, contriving to lose to Croatia and dropping into the tougher side of the knockout bracket. So either Conte or Chelsea's three Spaniards (of whom only Cesc has been featuring regularly) will be coming home a bit earlier than they would've liked.
ENGLAND vs. ICELAND
When: 20:00 BST; 3pm EDT
Where: Allianz Riviera (Nice)
On TV: BBC One (UK); ESPN, ESPN Deportes (USA); elsewhere
Streaming online: BBC iPlayer (UK); ESPN3 (USA)
Who/what to watch for: There's no way England are losing this, is there? (Teehee.)
