As the summer break from club football trudges on, Chelsea are starting to wrap up a few loan deals for what's sure to be another vast loan army. The latest confirmed move sees Lewis Baker return to much-frequented Chelsea loanee destination, Vitesse Arnhem for a second season.

Baker enjoyed a relatively successful debut season in the top flight of Dutch football, making 34 appearances and playing just over 2,000 minutes of football, contributing with five goals and four assists. While he was making regular appearances in the first half of the season, an ominous mix of bad results and a change in management in the winter break threw a spanner in the works. Baker did end his season on a high note, excelling for England U20 at the Toulon Tournament, winning the trophy and picking up the Golden Boot award as well.
In a growing trend, Baker will be the fourth Chelsea loanee this season to spend a second consecutive season at his loan club, just Charly Musonda Jr. (Real Betis), Andreas Christensen (Borussia Monchengladbach), and Nathan (Vitesse).
While it could be argued that Baker is ready for a challenge at a higher level than the Eredivisie, finding stability and becoming a mainstay in the Vitesse line-up this season under new manager Hank Fraser could work out just as well. Good luck, Lewis!
