Eden Hazard sets initial goal for next season, reveals his favourite goal of this season

Chelsea ended the 2015-16 Premier League campaign in 10th place with 50 points and 12 losses — 37 points less and 9 losses more than last season.  Collecting bad performances and results throughout the first half of the season, the team stared at the dangers of relegation in mid-season, but recovered somewhat as the season wore on, closing it off on a tiny bit more hopeful note.

Recently re-anointed star Eden Hazard hopes to carry his own improved form into the start of next season.

"It's not easy to play as the champions, that's for sure. We knew that and it started from the first match. We maybe lacked a bit of combativeness compared to the year before."

"Injury-wise it was a bad season for me. The team, and me personally, have finished it okay, and we rediscovered some form which unfortunately we didn't show for much of the season. We and I have to start like that next season. We will all work together to try and be better."

The month of May went pretty well for Hazard as he scored two wondergoals, against Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, winning both the Premier League for Leicester City, and the Chelsea Goal of the Season for himself with the former.  While Hazard recognizes the importance of his Tottenham goal, the Liverpool one, in which he sliced and diced the Reds' defence to bits before slotting the ball past Belgium national team colleague Simon Mignolet, is his favourite.

"I preferred the one against Liverpool because it was more like me. The goal against Tottenham was beautiful and it gave the title to Leicester so it has a story with it, but I prefer the Liverpool one."

It's great to have the confident and healthy Hazard around again. We will surely need him if we want a true shot at returning to our usual standards next season.
