Hazard: 'Everyone waiting all season for me to be at this level', now 'I hope can stay like this forever'

You can plan a pretty picnic, but you can't predict the weather, right Eden?

Eden Hazard scored yet another sublime goal yesterday.  He also played really well, again, but it was the goal that stood out, as goals tend to do.

It also reminded us of the one he scored against Barcelona in pre-season.  So when Hazard says that we've been waiting for him all season, we quite literally have.  Since that goal against Barcelona, in fact, one which held promise in what was already shaping up to be a disappointing pre-season ("fake" or not).

"Everybody's been waiting a long season for me to be at this level, but now I'm close to my best performance. I hope I can stay like this forever!"

"Mixed emotions [about my performance] but in the end we are not happy, because we came here to win the game. We played fantastically for 89 minutes and then we conceded a goal. We are unlucky but everyone saw the good side of Chelsea tonight.  [My goal wasn't] special because we didn't win! It's always nice to score but it would be better not to and win the game."

Team first, as usual, for Eden.  But that's why we love him.  And, as we've said repeatedly in the last few weeks, hopefully for many years, if not quite forever.  But forever would also be nice.
