The wonderfully named and once wonderfully promising Wulfert Cornelius "Marco" van Ginkel joined Chelsea at the start of the Second Mourinho Era Dynasty Fling, and it seemed that he might even have a chance for decent amounts of playing time in that first season. All that came crashing down with a torn ACL in just his second start for the club.
It's been a long road back for the now 23-year-old, including two mildly successful loan stops at AC Milan and Stoke City. In January it became appeared that he was surplus to requirements at Stoke, and switched to Dutch champions PSV instead. Third time the charm as they say; MvG has been enjoying his chance at regular playing time once again, contributing with 5 goals in the 11 games including two on the weekend away to AZ. (The free kick was great, but that run for his first goal was fantastic.)
With five games to go in the Eredivisie, first place Ajax and second place PSV are separated by just two points. Van Ginkel, who also received a call-up to the Dutch squad in the last international break, will be counted on to help close that gap. But he wants even more than that.
"That chance [to stay with PSV next season] is probably great. We have not even talked about it, but that comes in the next period. It should all be discussed, but I am really enjoying myself here."

Van Ginkel has one more year TWO more years left on the five-year deal he signed in 2013. Chelsea might do that usual move of extend-and-loan, or we might just sell him outright. So that leaves plenty of options, but either way, I'm just happy that Van Ginkel is enjoying himself.
