Neither rain, nor hail, nor thunder, nor lightning could stand in the way of Chelsea U18s making history on Wednesday night.
Chelsea U18s become the first winners of 3 successive FA Youth Cup finals since Man Utd’s Busby Babes 60 years ago. Remarkable.

A comprehensive 3-1 win over Manchester City U18 in the challenging conditions, combined with the 1-1 draw from the first leg on Friday propelled Chelsea Academy to notch a third straight FA Youth Cup title. Last team to accomplish this feat were the famed Busby Babes of the 1950s. Jay Dasilva and Jake Clarke-Salter also joined elite company from those famous teams by winning their third Youth Cup.
Bobby Charlton, Duncan Edwards, Wilf McGuinness, Eddie Colman, Tony Hawksworth, Jay Dasilva, Jake Clarke-Salter. Winners of 3 #FAYC titles.

An opportunistic goal from the impressive Dujon Sterling right in the stroke of half time, a fantastic header from goal machine Tammy Abraham, and another headed blast from breakout star Fikayo Tomori settled the tie long before City grabbed a late consolation.

The trick now, as always, will be maintaining this level of excellence while eventually integrating these kids into the first team. That won't be an easy or simple task. But for now, let's enjoy making history one again, just like we did a few weeks ago in the UEFA Youth League.
