Real Betis Balompié president Ángel Haro has confirmed that not only are they interested in retaining the services of Charly Musonda Jr on loan for another season, but that negotiations with Chelsea (and Musonda's family and representatives) are already well underway and are "on the right track" and looking quite promising.

When this move was first rumored, it was often talked about as an 18-month deal. Adding the year onto the first six months then was always going to be an expected outcome provided that Musonda's initial games for the La Liga newcomers went well. As we know, "well" is quite an understatement for Charly's performances. He's walked straight into the team, settled remarkably quickly, and has done little else other than impress since.
It would appear that all parties involved in this deal are very happy with how Musonda's loan has been going so far and are keen on seeing it extended for next season as well. Charly is a tremendous talent, so it's imperative that we make the right decision. From where I'm sitting, extending the loan is the correct call.
