The Serie A links continue, Chelsea linked to Inter Milan pair

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

With Antonio Conte set to take Chelsea as their new manager for the next season, lots of rumours linking the club with Italy-based players started to pop up. The latest one comes from Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, claiming that Chelsea are interested in having Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic next season.

Both players are Croatian internationals who got to Inter Milan last year. Perisic moved from Wolfburg to Inter in the last summer transfer window for €16 million, while Brozovic arrived at the club from Dinamo Zagreb in January on a loan deal.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea and Conte see Perisic and Brozovic as good solutions to solve our attack and midfield issues, respectively. While the winger Perisic hasn't had a remarkable season for Inter, Brozovic has been stringing solid performances in the team's midfield throughout the period.

The newspaper reports that Brozovic is also in the sights of Arsenal as a transfer target for the next season. But Perisic would be Chelsea's priority, and the Blues would offer €20 million for his services.

This season showed that Chelsea really need some new blood injected in key parts of their squad, with the midfield being a glaring issue for quite a while. Brozovic would be a good and cheap alternative in case Roma refuse to sell Radja Nainggolan to Chelsea for a fair price.

Perisic could be a good addition as well, as he is a very versatile player who can play on either flank as a winger and even as a central attacking midfielder if needed. but he doesn't seem to be an improvement over the players Chelsea already have.
