More smoke rising from the Nathan Ake transfer rumor mill.  Working extra hard!  Here's Matt Law behind the keys with Chelsea (probably) whispering in his ears.

Chelsea will demand more than £10million for Nathan Ake this summer if the club's next permanent manager decides the left-back can leave.

The Ake rumors have followed a fairly predictable pattern over the past few days.  Watford opened with a £3m lowball to test the waters, and now Chelsea counter with £10m and a reminder that the player has many years left on his contract still so it's a seller's market for now.

Meanwhile, Ake himself is making the proper noises with ambition (want to make it at Chelsea) but also realism (need to actually play).  Chelsea say we are waiting for Conte to make these decisions and evaluate the squad during pre-season, but unless we are super high on Ake's prospects (which we might be, or we might not), we're just wanting Watford to up the bid.

Your move, Hornets.
