Chelsea ahead of Juventus in battle for Roma midfielder

According to well-known Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea aren't the only side interested in acquiring Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan as Serie A reigning champions Juventus have also entered the fray for the player.

Di Marzio claims in his report that manager Antonio Conte set Nainggolan as one of his target for Chelsea's midfield and the Blues are pushing the hardest of all suitors to acquire the Belgian international.  But Juventus also see Nainggolan as a potential transfer target, especially if Paul Pogba's expected departure from the club in the near future becomes a reality. Another alternative for Juventus would be Portuguese midfielder André Gomes, who is currently playing for Spanish club Valencia.

Chelsea's interest on Nainggolan is far from new information considering that he's been linked with the club ever since the Conte rumours started to emerge in the press. However, Juventus' interest could make reaching a deal for Nainggolan a much harder task, as well as more expensive since there will be more leverage on Roma and the player's side.

On the plus side, at least Chelsea are being linked with quality targets.
