Nathan Ake has been one of the biggest success stories of this season's crop of Chelsea loanees, the 21-year-old firmly establishing himself as the first-choice left back at Watford. While he does also have a dozen appearances for Chelsea already at such a young age — he had been on the fringes of the first-team since 2012 — that's no guarantee that his future lies with the Blues.
Sure enough, here comes the inevitable rumor.
Now Quique Sanchez Flores hopes to sign Ake full-time — or failing that bring him back for another loan stint for next season.

A sensible move, given Ake's success for the surprisingly good Hornets, especially at the quoted £3m fee. That seems ridiculously low to me, so perhaps Watford are just testing the waters publicly. Even if we don't actually want Ake in the long-term, surely, as a battle-tested Premier League left back, we can get a bit more than that. He signed a new five-year deal with Chelsea just last summer; there's no rush.
