There are still at least two months and a half of football to be played by Chelsea this season, and the club are still looking to finish as high as possible despite their poor start last year. Under-fire midfielder Nemanja Matic hasn't even ruled out a top four finish, believing that taking all 30 available points from their final ten fixtures could see Chelsea return to the Champions League next season.
"It's very important to win games. We're a big team and we have to do this if we want to be closer to the first four. It's very difficult to catch them, but we'll try our best to win every game."
"I think we can be in the first six, but we will try to win every game. I know it's difficult, maybe impossible, but in football anything can happen. We will go game by game, step by step, and we will see in the end where we finish in the league."

The Blues are still chasing for two cup titles in the FA Cup and the Champions League, and the next results in those competitions will decide where the club should focus their resources. While an Europa League classification through the PL is still attainable, potential selection and fitness issues coupled with a tight schedule might make the team turn their heads elsewhere should we stay in the run for one of the cups by the end of the season.
