Miralem Pjanic buyout clause revealed, boosting Chelsea interest

Following yesterday's reports of Chelsea already lining up a raid for a couple AS Roma players, today's follow-up reports are doubling down on the Miralem Pjanic part of the story, especially after the midfielder's buyout clause had been revealed.

Marina Granovskaia, Chelsea's director and lead negotiator, has spoken to Miralem Pjanic's advisers and established that there is a £31 million buyout clause in the Bosnia-Herzegovina midfielder's contract at Roma.

That sounds like a lot of money (without even considering wages), but 30 is the new 20 when it comes to inflated transfer market prices.  Plus, the cash received for Ramires's big money move to China would basically cover Pjanic's rumored fee!

That said, the 25-year-old plays more towards the attacking end of the midfield, and we're pretty well set there at the moment.  Nemanja Matić's continuing struggles, including yesterday's trip to Noriwch, should however remind Chelsea of where we'll be needing the biggest, most impactful summer transfer window reinforcements.
