Another day, another Chelsea player heading out on loan. Chelsea announced on Friday that 22-year-old goalkeeper Jamal Blackman is joining Swedish club Östersunds FK on a loan deal until May 31st.
Blackman has been with Chelsea since 2006, joining the club at the U13 level and playing a significant part in most of the laurels achieved by Chelsea's youth set-up in the latest years. This season Blackman was a back-up to first-team goalkeepers Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic alongside former Milan player Marco Amelia.
His new club Östersunds were promoted last season from Sweden's 2nd football division, and will play in the country's elite league Allsvenskan for the first time in their 19-year history. The Allsvenskan is set to start in April 2nd, and will finish in November this year.
Best of luck to Blackman, and may he do well on the Swedish pitches.
