Gary Cahill has been named to Roy Hodgson's latest England squad. This is important and vital news. After all, he's only the vice captain of the team and a virtual ever-present thanks to his extra-ordinary defensive work, and we don't write this post (perhaps less sarcastically) for every international break and summer tournament. Perhaps these notices serve that there's an international break ahead, which can only be good news in this season of woes. We're off for a week after the home match against West Ham on Saturday, and I'm sure few will complain.
Anyway, here's the whole squad:
Goalkeepers: Jack Butland, Fraser Forster, Joe Hart
Defenders: Ryan Bertrand, Gary Cahill, Nathaniel Clyne, Phil Jagielk, Danny Rose, Chris Smalling, John Stones, Kyle Walker.
Midfielders: Dele Alli, Ross Barkley, Eric Dier, Danny Drinkwater, Jordan Henderson , Adam Lallana, James Milner.
Forwards: Harry Kane, Daniel Sturridge, Jamie Vardy, Theo Walcott, Welbeck, Raheem Sterling.
