The thing about dealing with transfers about Italian or Italy-based players and managers is that there is never any shortage of rumors.  The Italian media, and their multitude of dubious online sources cover every rumor, big or small, exhaustively.  And unlike the English media, who, tend to frame their stories in terms of general understandings and big picture coulds and shoulds, the Italians seem to prefer very specific dates and actions in their stories.  Meetings on such and such day.  People traveling to such and such cities on such and such purposes.  Contracts signed at such and such hour at such and such location with such and such writing instrument.

And so, here's the latest with regards to Antonio Conte and the future Chelsea manager's day-to-day activities.

Chelsea supposedly had another meeting this weekend with the former Juventus manager, finalizing for about the third or fourth time the final details of the final agreement.  This time it's really final!  Maybe.

At this point, Conte-to-Chelsea might have eclipsed Mourinho-to-United as the biggest open secret in football management.  Let's get it done and get the War Future Planning Committee up and running.
